Winter Olympics 2010 Fatal Luge Accident – Video of Nodar Kumaritashvili Crash

The Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver started in tragedy as a luge accident happened during training just hours before the opening ceremonies. It’s sad to hear that 21 year old Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider died during a training run. The luge accident left many people in shock and deeply emotional after the incident. It’s sad to see that this young man’s passion and quest to be in the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver ultimately has taken his life. The tragic luge accident left many to wonder on the safety of the luge track. It has been mentioned that the luge event will go on and that it has been deemed safe and this was just a tragic accident. Nodar Kumaritashvili will be on everyone’s mind during the whole Winter Olympics in Vancouver and thoughts and prayers goes out to his family after this fatal luge accident.

Canada has waited a long time to see the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and sad to see this terrible luge accident take place. Everyone sends their deepest condolences to Nodar’s family in this very difficult time. This was going to be Nodar Kumaritashvili’s first time in the Winter Olympics in 2010.

Pull Out Your Shovels! Winter Snowstorm To Hit Moncton Area Bringing Close to 20cm of Snow

Well its December and Moncton still has yet to get a winter snowstorm this year! Well that wait is over! Moncton is expected to get close to 20cm of snow from Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon. So pull out your shovels, get your snowblowers ready as winter has finally arrived.

So far we’ve been lucky with very mild temperature which are above normal for this time of year. We’ve had a great November and very nice weather up until now. This will be the first winter snowstorm for 2009 in Moncton and just a glimpse of what we have to look forward to for the remainder of winter. This is the first snowstorm of many and the long term forecast is calling for another 10-15 cm of snow on Wednesday but we’ll wait and see how that turns out.

We may just have a white Christmas after all! Let it snow, let it snow

Snowstorm Will Miss The Moncton Area! Dodged 10-20cm of Snow

The forecasted snowstorm bringing 10-20 cm of snow that was to hit the Moncton area starting on Thursday night into Friday has just missed us. People in Moncton can put their snow shovels away for a little while longer but my guess not too much longer. We were suppose to get 10-20cm of snow to fall in the Metro Moncton area but it seems like Nova Scotia will be getting most of the accumulations.

What we will see in southeast New Brunswick will be rain mixed with snow. In Moncton looks like we’ll have some wet slushy weather but at least we won’t be getting all kinds of snow just yet. Some people may be glad to see no snowstorm in Moncton but all the skiers and snowboarders I imagine are all gearing up for another fun season on the slopes. I for one are glad we missed it just yet! I still need to get my snow tires on my car so I better get to the garage very soon.

For all you who miss winter snowstorms in Moncton here’s a quick video to bring back some of the joys of winter . I wonder when our first snowstorm in Moncton will hit and wonder what kind of a winter we will have this year. Hopefully a short one!
