If it’s not snow Moncton is dealing with it’s now rain and lots of it! There is a rainfall warning into effect for Southeastern New Brunswick and we could see rainfall amounts between 40 – 60 millimetres by the time this storm ends Monday night. Many home owners are concerned for all the melting snow and flooding that may occur. This will cause flooding on roads with clogged drains and the city of Moncton will have its work cut out for them.

You may have seen on Sunday that the snowbanks are considerably smaller then they use to be. With this rain it will help motorist driving through the city as snowbanks have been a major safety concern for many people. It makes it very difficult and hard to see around street corners with those large snowbanks. I for one know all about it as I was struck by a vehicle last week while driving to work. With all this rain coming it will help for safer driving for sure but would you rather have snow or rain?

Rain sounds much better for me as spring will be here sooner and all that snow will be gone before you know it! Some however would much rather have snow as the concern for melting snow too fast will cause flooding in home owners basements. We’ll soon see how the effects of this latest rain storm impacted home owners and the city of Moncton.

What does this say for Moncton? Could it possibly be that spring is around the corner? Could winter be possibly over and no more snow for Moncton? Only time will tell but for the meantime keep your umbrella close to you as there’s much more rain to come for Moncton!

Moncton is yet again getting hit with another major snowstorm that will bring heavy snowfall amounts and a blizzard warning is in effect. Southern New Brunswick will see high snowfall amounts and Moncton will see close to 30 – 40cm by the time this snow storm ends. This blizzard warning comes with high winds anywhere from 80 – 90 km/h causing blowing snow and drifting. Due to the high winds expected there will be near zero visibility and drivers are urged to stay home. This system that is hitting us will bring some rain and snow to some other areas in Nova Scotia. Cindy Day from CTV News said that this will be probably the worst snowstorm we’ll have this winter season.

Source: The Weather Network

This year Moncton has seen its fair share of snow and I can speak for the rest of us that we hope that spring comes soon. It’s been the first time in years that we’ve seen so much snow as for the past few years we’ve experienced warmer winters and not too much snow. We’ve definitely made up for it this year in Moncton which could be record snowfall amounts by the time this winter season is done.

Moncton is at risk of exceeding its $5 Million budget for plowing the city this year. They may perhaps exceed it but over the last 3-4 years I’d say they definitely haven’t used their budget up with the warm winters we’ve had. Another problem we’ve seen many people including business’s and home owners face is where roofs have collapsed due to the weight of the snow. It is highly recommended that home owners and business owners clear off the snow especially with the expected snowfall amountsto hit Moncton with this latest storm.

This winter season has been one to remember and it’s not over yet Moncton. There may be another low pressure system to hit Moncton early next week. Will the snow ever end? Get the shovel ready as this latest snowstorm expected to end on Saturday morning is going to be a wild one Moncton.

Well it’s a snowy Super Bowl Sunday and yet another snowstorm has hit Moncton yet again but is it over yet? The people at The Weather Network are saying don’t put those shovels away yet, two more snowstorms coming this week!!! This latest snowstorm today has brought 20 – 30cm of snow in many areas South of New Brunswick including some high winds. It was a pretty good snowstorm but what does mother nature have in store this week for Moncton.

Two more low pressure systems are scheduled to hit Moncton this week bringing more snow. One winter snowstorm will hit Tuesday bringing at least 10 cm or more and another scheduled to hit sometime Thursday or Friday. So far this winter Moncton has seen the most snow in years. Many people have been wondering exactly on how much snow has Moncton received this year so far? The answer not including today is about 215 cm and yet more to come this week.

Well Moncton enjoy the Super Bowl game today between Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers, that will be the most fun you have today. Shovelling snow yet again won’t be on the top of your list of things to do. Enjoy the game and Moncton get ready as two more snowstorms are scheduled to hit this week! When will winter finish this year and how much more will we get. I don’t know about you but I am getting sick of all the snow, how about you?

Moncton are you ready for yet another snowstorm? That’s right we are getting yet another snow storm this coming Wednesday that is shaping up to be quite the storm! We just finished shovelling out from the last snowstorm last week and the Maritimes will be getting more snow again.

This snowstorm is coming from Ontario that will have quite an impact. Eastern Canada has received their fair share of snow this year and winter isn’t over. Will it ever end? In Moncton we have been literally getting one snowstorm a week it seems like for the past 6-7 weeks. We’re literally running out of room to put the snow.

This Moncton snowstorm to hit on Wednesday and parts of Thursday is expected to bring 25-35cm of snow. By the size of the storm I wouldn’t doubt that we’ll receive more. It’s been quite a winter so far and it isn’t over yet!

Kids you can most likely expect another day off school on Wednesday and potentially Thursday as well. It’s been quite some time that we’ve seen so many storm days causing school closures in years it seems. Kids are sure loving it but what does it mean about summer vacation. There has been some concern lately about how many days kids have had off school due to storms and will it impact there summer vacation. Only time will tell what nature has in store and how many more snowstormswill hit Moncton this winter.

Stay tuned for more updates on this latest storm that’s brewing to hit Moncton on Wednesday. Get ready to pull out your shovels this one is going to bring heavy snowfall amounts again!

If you think this is something The Weather Network is calling for 10+cm of snow for Saturday as well. Is another snowstorm coming this weekend? Moncton could be in for quite a week!

Hurricane Earl is on its way to the Maritimes and a tropical storm warning is in effect in Moncton. Hurricane Earl will bring strong winds and heavy rain to much of the Maritimes and the people of Moncton are urged to be prepared. It’s advised that people should bring in anything laying around the yard that could be blown away during the storm. As we can remember when Hurricane Juan hit Halifax Nova Scotia back on September 28/29 , 2003 it left quite a bit of damage in its path. It’s unsure how Hurricane Earl will impact the Maritimes as of yet but we’ll soon find out Saturday morning when it arrives. Moncton is expected to receive heavy rainfall amounts 30-40 mm and high winds from Hurricane Earl.

When any hurricane storm warning goes into effect people should take these warnings serious. People should have enough supplies on hand such as food and water to last up to 72 hours just in case we lose electricity. You can buy 72 hour emergency and survival kits pretty much anywheres online or you can make up one up yourself. Knowing how to make up your own personal emergency kit could save your life during any natural disasters, hurricanes, storms etc. Being prepared for anything is your best way at survival during any situation. Plan ahead!

Hurricane Earl draws near and we’ll soon see how strong of a tropical storm this one really is. Moncton prepares for Hurricane Earl as we all track its path to see what category level storm is coming our way.

There is lots of controversy over the years of this but it seems that the owner of the strip club is within his rights to operate within the city of Moncton.

Over the years we’ve seen many business name changes for the strip club but one thing is for sure the people of Moncton’s views on this business hasn’t changed one bit. Lots of people in Moncton believe that this type of business should not be allowed near schools. Some believe strip clubs should not even be allowed to operate within Moncton. Many concerned parents have expressed there concerns to the city of Moncton but with no result. It seems that he has every right to operate his business and it does not seem that Bikini Beach owner Nando Speranza is going anywhere soon. In a recent article today in the Times & Transcript he said there is no illegal activity going on and he is going to operate without a liquor licence. Liquor sales in a bar make up the large part of their revenue and to operate one without a liquor licence must make people wonder how. Police have gone into the bar many times but have not found anything illegal going on. Is this truly a legit business.? We all know that at bars illegal activity goes on everyday whether its the customers or sometimes the owners and staff but we only hear about it when someone gets caught. Rest assured I’m sure the RCMP will be checking into this strip club periodically to make sure things are legit.

So I ask you all should Bikini Beach strip club in Moncton be allowed to operate next to Moncton High School? Do you think as long as the owner follows all the laws and regulations of exotic strip clubs he should be allowed to operate in Moncton as long as he’s not in violation of any. Voice your concerns and opinions on this very controversial topic on strip clubs in Moncton.

When looking for cheap car and auto insurance in Moncton drivers should think about getting TD Auto Insurance. A simple call and your able to get a car insurance quote that will save you money. There are so many car insurance companies in Moncton but if you shop around for auto insurance it will be worth your while with low rates offered by TD Insurance.

When I was shopping around for car insurance in Moncton about 6 years ago I was getting insurance quotes as high as $2500 a year. Then I found an ad about online car insurance through TD Auto Insurance and I am sure glad I did. It’s weird how some insurance quotes you get are so much higher then other Insurance Companies. The quote for car insurance at the time through TD Auto Insurance was $700 a year.

What I am paying today with TD Auto Insurance is only $93.25 a month, full coverage, accident forgiveness and zero deductible. They offer affordable car insurance, friendly customer service and are quick to get claims done. So far I’ve only put in two claims in my life and they’ve always fixed my car right away. Once I hit a porcupine on the highway towards Shediac and the other time I had a cracked windshield that they immediately repaired for me over at Speedy Auto Glass in Moncton. It was quick, easy and it was never this long drawn out process to put in a insurance claim. TD Insurance is one company that I will be a customer for a long time. They also offer home insurance, tenant insurance, car insurance and more. The more business you do with them the more money you save!

For 6 years now I have been a customer of TD Auto Insurance and I love the fast friendly customer service they offer along with low car insurance rates that’s affordable. So if your looking around for cheap auto insurance in Moncton give TD Insurance a call, you’ll be glad you did, I know I was. Cheapest car insurance in New Brunswick !

This summer I decided to put in a water garden and MacArthurs Nursery in Moncton had all the pond plants and pond fish I was looking for. I was quite impressed with all the pond plants to choose from as well as the high quality fish they had. They had everything from hardy water lilies, marginals and many colourful fish. After talking to one of the employees I guess they get the pond fish from a local supplier right here in Moncton. I never knew they carried pond fish as I always thought that I would have to go buy some from Pets Unlimited. The fish that I decided to buy at MacArthurs were the sarassa comets which are a beautiful snowy white and deep cherry red. They are very colourful in your pond and look amazing! I also had to buy a few koi as the wide variety of colours truly peaked my interest.

With water gardening truly taking off over the last few years and friends having ponds too got me hooked. I like the fact that MacArthurs Nursery had so many things to choose from and had everything I was looking for. MacArthurs Nursery had goldfish, sarassa comets, shubunkins, butterfly koi, koi and blue catfish. I think next year I will buy some blue catfish as I heard they are scavengers are help keep your garden pond clean. They also carry water hyacinths which are a tropical plant but really helps keep your pond clean too.

So if your looking at building yourself a pond or looking to add pond plants, water lilies or more pond fish check out MacArthurs Nursery. Why buy online when you can get them right within Moncton at your local garden centre.
