Moncton is yet again getting hit with another major snowstorm that will bring heavy snowfall amounts and a blizzard warning is in effect. Southern New Brunswick will see high snowfall amounts and Moncton will see close to 30 – 40cm by the time this snow storm ends. This blizzard warning comes with high winds anywhere from 80 – 90 km/h causing blowing snow and drifting. Due to the high winds expected there will be near zero visibility and drivers are urged to stay home. This system that is hitting us will bring some rain and snow to some other areas in Nova Scotia. Cindy Day from CTV News said that this will be probably the worst snowstorm we’ll have this winter season.

Source: The Weather Network

This year Moncton has seen its fair share of snow and I can speak for the rest of us that we hope that spring comes soon. It’s been the first time in years that we’ve seen so much snow as for the past few years we’ve experienced warmer winters and not too much snow. We’ve definitely made up for it this year in Moncton which could be record snowfall amounts by the time this winter season is done.

Moncton is at risk of exceeding its $5 Million budget for plowing the city this year. They may perhaps exceed it but over the last 3-4 years I’d say they definitely haven’t used their budget up with the warm winters we’ve had. Another problem we’ve seen many people including business’s and home owners face is where roofs have collapsed due to the weight of the snow. It is highly recommended that home owners and business owners clear off the snow especially with the expected snowfall amountsto hit Moncton with this latest storm.

This winter season has been one to remember and it’s not over yet Moncton. There may be another low pressure system to hit Moncton early next week. Will the snow ever end? Get the shovel ready as this latest snowstorm expected to end on Saturday morning is going to be a wild one Moncton.

Well it’s a snowy Super Bowl Sunday and yet another snowstorm has hit Moncton yet again but is it over yet? The people at The Weather Network are saying don’t put those shovels away yet, two more snowstorms coming this week!!! This latest snowstorm today has brought 20 – 30cm of snow in many areas South of New Brunswick including some high winds. It was a pretty good snowstorm but what does mother nature have in store this week for Moncton.

Two more low pressure systems are scheduled to hit Moncton this week bringing more snow. One winter snowstorm will hit Tuesday bringing at least 10 cm or more and another scheduled to hit sometime Thursday or Friday. So far this winter Moncton has seen the most snow in years. Many people have been wondering exactly on how much snow has Moncton received this year so far? The answer not including today is about 215 cm and yet more to come this week.

Well Moncton enjoy the Super Bowl game today between Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers, that will be the most fun you have today. Shovelling snow yet again won’t be on the top of your list of things to do. Enjoy the game and Moncton get ready as two more snowstorms are scheduled to hit this week! When will winter finish this year and how much more will we get. I don’t know about you but I am getting sick of all the snow, how about you?

Moncton are you ready for yet another snowstorm? That’s right we are getting yet another snow storm this coming Wednesday that is shaping up to be quite the storm! We just finished shovelling out from the last snowstorm last week and the Maritimes will be getting more snow again.

This snowstorm is coming from Ontario that will have quite an impact. Eastern Canada has received their fair share of snow this year and winter isn’t over. Will it ever end? In Moncton we have been literally getting one snowstorm a week it seems like for the past 6-7 weeks. We’re literally running out of room to put the snow.

This Moncton snowstorm to hit on Wednesday and parts of Thursday is expected to bring 25-35cm of snow. By the size of the storm I wouldn’t doubt that we’ll receive more. It’s been quite a winter so far and it isn’t over yet!

Kids you can most likely expect another day off school on Wednesday and potentially Thursday as well. It’s been quite some time that we’ve seen so many storm days causing school closures in years it seems. Kids are sure loving it but what does it mean about summer vacation. There has been some concern lately about how many days kids have had off school due to storms and will it impact there summer vacation. Only time will tell what nature has in store and how many more snowstormswill hit Moncton this winter.

Stay tuned for more updates on this latest storm that’s brewing to hit Moncton on Wednesday. Get ready to pull out your shovels this one is going to bring heavy snowfall amounts again!

If you think this is something The Weather Network is calling for 10+cm of snow for Saturday as well. Is another snowstorm coming this weekend? Moncton could be in for quite a week!

Well it hasn’t even been a week since Moncton got it’s first snowstorm of the season and now we have a heavy snowfall amounts coming with about 15-25cm of snow. This latest winter snowstorm is going to be a nasty one. Moncton is not only expected to get some heavy snowfall amounts but it will also bring a mixture of snow, rain and freezing rain by Thursday morning. This will bring some nasty driving conditions and everyone in Moncton should drive with caution. This will be the 2nd snowstorm of the season for Moncton and many people predict that we are in for a winter to remember with all kinds of snow.

On Sunday Dec. 6, we had our first winter snowstorm in Moncton and ended up with 13 cm of snow that fell as reported by The Moncton International Airport. This latest one coming this evening is a much bigger system coming in and expected to leave Moncton in quite a mess. For all the people who wanted a white Christmas, we have it! All the mild temperatures are behind us now and Moncton should be aware that winter has arrived in full force. More snow in Moncton leads us to believe we could be in for a very long winter. The 2nd snowstorm of the season for 2009 has arrived! Snowfall warning for Southeast New Brunswick which will bring some pretty nasty weather conditions. Drive safe and adjust your driving as the roads will become very slippery when it turns over from snow to freezing rain, then rain. We are also expected to have strong winds between 40-70km/hr and up to 100 km/hr winds in some locations causing blowing snow. This latest snowstorm will most likely cause power interuptions in some areas. Winter has arrived!

What do you think? Is Moncton in for a long winter this year? I think we’re going to get plenty of snow this year, what about you? Are you glad winter is here or are you already wishing summer was here

Well its December and Moncton still has yet to get a winter snowstorm this year! Well that wait is over! Moncton is expected to get close to 20cm of snow from Saturday evening to Sunday afternoon. So pull out your shovels, get your snowblowers ready as winter has finally arrived.

So far we’ve been lucky with very mild temperature which are above normal for this time of year. We’ve had a great November and very nice weather up until now. This will be the first winter snowstorm for 2009 in Moncton and just a glimpse of what we have to look forward to for the remainder of winter. This is the first snowstorm of many and the long term forecast is calling for another 10-15 cm of snow on Wednesday but we’ll wait and see how that turns out.

We may just have a white Christmas after all! Let it snow, let it snow

What we will see in southeast New Brunswick will be rain mixed with snow. In Moncton looks like we’ll have some wet slushy weather but at least we won’t be getting all kinds of snow just yet. Some people may be glad to see no snowstorm in Moncton but all the skiers and snowboarders I imagine are all gearing up for another fun season on the slopes. I for one are glad we missed it just yet! I still need to get my snow tires on my car so I better get to the garage very soon.

For all you who miss winter snowstorms in Moncton here’s a quick video to bring back some of the joys of winter . A blizzard in Moncton on Dec.22, 2008 and it ain’t no Dairy Queen Blizzard I am talking about. Does that look like fun to you? I wonder when our first snowstorm in Moncton will hit and wonder what kind of a winter we will have this year. Hopefully a short one!
