Hope all your kids got a lot of tricks and treats for Halloween and to the adults hope you all had some cool Halloween parties that were going on tonight too. Happy Halloween!

Here are 11 Halloween safety tips all parents and kids should be aware of:

1. Kids should be wearing reflective strips and carry those fluorescent lights that kids can wear as a necklace  or ones like bracelets too.

2. Give your child a flash light so he can see where he or she is going.

3. Children love buying Halloween costumes but try and stay clear away from the masks. Halloween masks can make it hard for kids to see, trip and cause injuries. Try sticking to face paint instead.

4. Make sure that whatever costume your kids are wearing for Halloween that nothing is dragging where other kids can step on or trip going up stairs.

5. Children should never go out alone. Always have adult supervision or let your children go out in groups with friends if they are old enough.

6. Children should never enter a person’s home to get treats and should only go to houses with lights on.

7.  When trick or treating kids should always trick or treat down one side of the road and then the other. Do not criss cross and always try and cross at intersections or crosswalks.

8. Make sure your kids stay away from open flames like candles as Halloween costumes and products such as coloured hair spray are extremely flammable.

9. All Halloween treats should be inspected by an adult before your children eat them. Make sure to tell your kids before hand. All treats that have wrappers opened or treats that could be easily tampered with and not sealed properly should be discarded.

10. All young children should be accompanied by an adult. For older kids provide them with a cell phone so that you can reach them or they can reach you if need be in case of emergency.

Halloween is one of the best times for kids right up there with Christmas but with everything all good times can come to an end quickly if injuries happen. We all have our own memories from Club Cosmo Night Club when we were going out in our clubbing days from Wednesday wing nights to Friday night Jazz and plenty of live music. Those were the good old days! Downtown was amazing then, when there was the Cosmo, Fat Tuesday’s, Ziggy’s and Spanky’s. Those were the places I knew in my younger days. Glad to see Cosmo back in Moncton as we all have memories of good old times in our partying days.

With all the recent events going on in Moncton with the bouncer issue at a nearby local night club, they couldn’t have picked a better time for the Grand Re-Opening of The New Cosmo. Now people will have more of a choice on where to go out to dance and have a great time. Young people can experience a new downtown bar while you might even get some Club Cosmo Fans out of retirement   I’m sure Cosmo will have great success as it was a very popular downtown bar in the past. From talking to people last year for Halloween who have gone to the Boo at the Zoo, I hear it’s pretty amazing! If your looking for a great spot to take the kids and the whole family it’s worth checking out. Boo at the Zoo Moncton opened up last night so if your planning on attending make sure you reserve your tickets as they will sell out fast. They have nights for the family and also for adult fun too. Each year this Halloween event put on by Friends of the Zoo Inc. helps raise funds for better animal enclosures and exhibits. This year all funds gained through this event, they want to put it towards construction of a new Amur tiger and Amur leopard exhibits.
