Team Canada has won gold medal in men’s hockey after a 3-2 win over the USA in overtime. What a Olympic finish for team Canada in Vancouver 2010. With Canada’s gold medal victory over the US they have officially set a record for most gold medals ever during an Olympic Games. With this gold medal Canada finishes with 14 gold medals at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver 2010.

Team Canada Wins Gold Medal Game vs USA in Men's Hockey Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics

Sidney Crosby’s golden overtime goal was a sweet one after having a gold medal within reach during regulation time. Team Canada allowed team USA to score with only 24 seconds left by Zach Parise to tie it up makes this victory that much better. Sidney managed to get the winning goal past star goalie Ryan Miller during OT. What a great hockey game! How Ironic is is that Sidney Crosby won the game for Canada after going the last 3 games without a point. When it all mattered Sid The Kid scores the golden goal that means the most. Now Sidney Crosby has a Stanley Cup and now an Olympic Gold Medal in Men’s Hockey at only 22 years old.

Goals for Team Canada were Corey Perry and Johnathan Toews during regulation time and for US it was Ryan Kesler and Zach Parise with only 24 seconds left in regulation time to score for Team USA to force overtime.

and….

The winning goal by Sidney Crosby of Canada to win the game in OT!

We’re all proud of all our Olympians and what we’ve achieved during this years Olympics in Vancouver. We all look forward to the Winter Olympics 2014 to win more and make our nation proud.

They’ve already beat Canada once so I’m sure the rematch will be different as Canada looks to take gold!

So far the women were able to take gold by beating the US in this years Winter Olympics. Now it’s time for the men to shine and accomplish the same as the women.

Sidney Crosby will try and lead Team Canada tonight as they face off against Slovakia. It should be an interesting game and hopefully our men’s ice hockey team will capture a spot in the gold medal game. If they can beat Slovakia tonight, they will most likely have a re-match game against the US in which there previous encounter Canada lost. Canada would love to ave a rematch against the US! We’ll have to wait and see what happens as we all watch on.

Go Team Canada and good luck tonight!

Well finally a bit of good news! Canada will receive 1.8 million doses of the H1N1 vaccine next week consisting of 1 million containing the adjuvant and then 800,000 of the adjuvant free version for pregnant women. I know the Federal Government has been scrutinized heavily over how they are handling this H1N1 pandemic as they have been unable to have enough supply for the demand. Last week the manufacturer did not supply enough H1N1 vaccine as promised from the producer GlaxoSmithKline Inc. Why would Canada solely rely on one supplier of H1N1 vaccine instead of having a backup plan or another supplier to make sure this wouldn’t happen? It just doesn’t make sense! Although the good news is we will receive 1.8 million doses of H1N1 vaccine sometime next week.

Now schools are reporting many cases of H1N1 and it’s growing fast and it will continue to do so. In a press conference Dr. Eilish Cleary, NB chief medical officer of health said that she would predict that close to 2000 people in New Brunswick have H1N1 and it would continue to grow. Although there are only over a couple hundred confirmed cases of H1N1 they predict for every one confirmed case there could be 5 up to 10 more cases that are not confirmed. Dr. Cleary did say that more cases of H1N1 are being shown sooner then expected and just shows that its spreading.

So far H1N1 has caused hospitalizations across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI. There are 21 cases of H1N1 hopitalizations in Nova Scotia, 18 in New Brunswick and 15 in PEI. Most of the people being infected with the H1N1 virus are kids under 2, pregnant women and older people with health conditions.

In Nova Scotia, Dr. Robert Strang, Chief Medical Officer of Health admitted that tough decisions needed to be made for the priority groups, those who will get the H1N1 vaccine. It’s been very tough on him and his colleagues but they are trying the best that they can. With the recent news of Canada getting 1.8 million doses of H1N1 vaccine is good news they are hoping for as much as they can get. So far in Nova Scotia there are 377 reported cases of H1N1 and schools continue to show high absenteeism rates. Some schools were showing anywhere from 10% to as high as 30-45%. Dr. Strang said to the School Board that it’s their decision on when they believe that they should close down the schools due to H1N1 to help prevent the spread.

It is great that we are getting the 1.8 million doses of H1N1 vaccine early next week hopefully but it is not nearly enough as we need right at this time. Public Health Officers are hoping to be able to expand the H1N1 vaccinations into other priority groups but they need to wait until they know how much each individual province will receive for their portion of the H1N1 vaccines.

On other news their is a report that states that Canada is looking for another supplier to try and get more H1N1 vaccine quicker. We’ll see how this turns out but seems like they are now trying to make things better as we all know how H1N1 clinics have been being run and the lack of vaccine we’ve all seen. The general public is getting frustrated and now they are trying to correct this issue as they see how fast the H1N1 flu virus is spreading. Hopefully they can correct it fast enough now!

Well the H1N1 flu shots are being sent across Canada but waiting for approval to start giving the vaccine shots to the public. Every year people get the regular flu shot and now were are facing this H1N1 pandemic. People are left weary and unsure what they should do? So many comments being made on the safety of this and all provinces seem to be doing there own thing. Some have elected to wait for the H1N1 flu shot while others went ahead and are doing both others waived the regular flu shots all together. What does the public think on this matter? Should people across Canada and here in our own city of Moncton get the H1N1 flu shot?

What makes me weary and I’m sure a lot of you are in the same boat is whether or not this H1N1 flu shot is safe. Was enough testing done or was it rushed to get this out to the public where mistakes could have been made. With little to no testing do we really know the effects and if it’s safe to administer? I for one never get the flu shot and I never get it every year (knock on wood). I did however was sick was last year when that Norwalk was around completely immobilized people. That was the sickest I ever was and regardless on whether people got the flu shot or not they still got it. That was the worse flu virus I have seen ever and some of you may have experienced it yourself. It was nuts! It was the first time I was sick in years but this is something that went around quick and affected many.

While writing this post, on the news it states that the H1N1 flu vaccine has received approval from Canada Health Department. Question I ask is why would all those H1N1 flu vaccine shots be sent out to all provinces even before they approved it? What if they didn’t approve it, would they have sent it all back? Doesn’t really make sense. You think it would be approved before being shipped out. If they are rushing things so much do you feel safe or will you go without this year with all the different views on this new vaccine. Within a few days Canadians will start getting the H1N1 vaccine but how do you feel about all the different information you see on the news about this new drug.

Now this year we are faced with this H1N1 flu virus and what should people do? What are your thoughts on the seasonal flu shot and most importantly the H1N1 flu shot. Do you feel safe using this drug? Do you feel like it was thoroughly tested enough or was rushed? Share your thoughts and whether or not you will be getting this H1N1 flu shot when it arrives or are we just guinea pigs being tested on?

Calgary Police now have charged the two men that were involved in the tiger attack that trespassed at the Calgary Zoo and climbed over the fence. Police now have confirmed that the two men were drinking and apparently wanted to surprise a friend they knew which was working at the time at the zoo. The names of the trespassers are Trevor James Wearmouth and Thomas Anthony Brycehart who now have been charged with one count of each of petty trespassing.

It is still not confirmed on the state of one of the charged men on whether or not he will lose an arm but we do know that he suffered severe injuries to the arm when Vitali, the Siberian Tiger at the Calgary Zoo pulled his arm in the cage. Police would not disclose that information due to privacy laws.

Hopefully then man who suffered severe injuries will have a full recovery but the next time these two men go to the zoo they will respect the animals and what they are capable of and attend the zoo during normal hours of operations. It is unbelievable what the effects of alcohol can do to ones state of mind. Definitely a dumb moment but hopefully they learned a lesson. Respect the law and respect the wild animals! Tigers are in a cage for a reason!

Yesterday on CTV news they talked about Google Maps Canada New Street View tool which allows people to see neighbourhoods, houses, everything. In Halifax this past summer cars drove around with high cameras mounted on their roof that had Google logos on them. Now Google Maps is available in Canada. What about our privacy?

Check out this video below of what exactly Google Maps Canada Street View works. See what pros and cons you may see by watching this video.

After reading this post go try it out at Google Maps Canada to see how it works. I know it’s not available in Moncton yet but I tried out Halifax and seen exactly how it works. It is definitely neat but there are definitely pros and cons to any new tool. Check it out for yourself and make sure you come back here to let us know what you think about Google Maps Canada Street View tool.

Google Maps Canada can be great for some people, for instance people looking for a place to live, who are going to University. They would get to see their place before they move there. Yes their may be advantages but what are the cons of this new tool on the Internet. Well for one criminals can work right from home, looking at homes, seeing if there are easy access, windows hidden by trees given them time to work etc.. This Google Maps may be good for some but it seems like there is no such thing as privacy.

What about our rights? Does the general public have right to say to Google I don’t want a picture of my home taken? If we don’t want people taken a picture of us or our kids, that’s our right, right? Well this is no different really.

What are your thought about this new Internet Tool Google Maps? Do you think our homes should be online for everyone to see? Lets here your thoughts. Do you like Google Maps or is it an invasion of your privacy?
