Cell phone use while driving is becoming one of the most talked about concerns among many people nowadays. Now I just learned yesterday while driving home and listening to the radio News 91.9 that teenagers are now pasting or taping their cell phones to the steering wheel while driving. Crazy! Now they are able to text people while driving a lot more now. This concerns me as well as a lot of people I’m sure. If this trend is starting now, this endangers not only the young teenagers life but the lives of innocent people as well. Texting while driving needs to stop and perhaps ban cell phone use all together.

Here in New Brunswick we don’t have a cell phone ban in place as of yet but I feel it’s just a matter of time before it comes into effect. Several provinces in Canada have already taken action and a domino effect will surely come to the rest as well. I’ve never heard of “pasting” until yesterday and I’m sure a lot of you haven’t either. The only reason why I learned of it is because someone had called in from The Coalition For Cellphone-Free Driving and talked about many different things being a doctor and what he’s seen. He’s seen many tragedies as a result of cellphone use while driving and kids are telling him what happened but when it comes to the police they lie and say they weren’t on their cell phones to try and get out of trouble. It was very interesting hearing the statistics and facts on accidents and how cellphones are increasing deaths and injuries as a result of them. After hearing him speak it definitely is something that needs to be done. Cellphone use while driving is killing our children and perhaps someone else’s loved one. Something needs to be done.

What do you think of teenagers pasting their cellphones to the steering wheel? Pretty nuts isn’t it! How would you feel if your child was injured or even killed as a result of some teenager texting while driving with their cellphone pasted to the steering wheel? Something needs to be done and I think more education should be brought into schools about proper and safe cellphone use. We need to sink the message into our teenagers and even adults that use cellphones while driving especially texting can kill. Education and strict laws concerning cell phone use need to be set into place. What do you think about this issue? Pasting cell phones to steering wheels, what next?

Should They Really Be Banned While Driving?" src="http://www.monctonblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/no-cell-phones.png" alt="No Cell Phones! Should They Really Be Banned While Driving?" width="180" height="180" />Well I just wrote the other day about “Should Cell Phones Be Banned While Driving In New Brunswick” and then today Ontario decides to ban cellphones. It seems like all the other provinces won’t be long to follow suit. It only takes one province to make a change and then all others are quick to follow. Now Ontario joins the other provinces like Nova Scotia, Quebec and Newfoundland who already have cellphones banned. Cell phones are now banned in Ontario so if you get caught you can get fined up to $500. That will definitely make people think twice while talking on their cellphone.

On CTV News it stated that people talking on their cellphones are 4 times more likely to be in a car accident and 24 more times likely while texting. Like I’ve said before, I can understand texting while driving your car is dangerous and quite frankly it’s no different then drinking and driving as poor judgement is used. There are plenty of mixed reactions on the ban of cell phones in Ontario but most would agree its a good thing. Even though it may be a good thing it will be a tough ban to really enforce really but we’ll have to wait and see the studies after the ban is in place to see if car accidents decline.

To show you all and especially young teenagers why texting on cellphones while driving is dangerous you can watch this video reenactment of what can happen. Nothing brings an important issue better then a video. This video was created by Mr. Watkins-Hughes and his students for and with the Gwent Police Department, located about 150 miles west of London. Well done and really gets the message home to all young people and especially parents so we can teach our kids the importance of being safe.

**** WARNING***** This 4 minute video you are about to see is very graphic. It is professionally staged and sends a strong message to everyone about texting while driving. Again this video is very graphic, please use your own discretion if young children are around.

After watching this texting while driving video I hope that many young teenagers will learn from this and it sticks with them for ever. It only takes a second and our lives can be taken away in a flash. Even though some people may be angry with the cellphone ban in Ontario it may have just saved a few lives.

For all provinces that have no cellphone bansin place please use your phones responsibly and forward this article to all your friends. You may just save your friends life who may be texting while driving all the time. Be safe!

So how many of you text while driving? After watching this video about texting on your cellphone while driving, you think you’ll do it again? Be safe, use your cellphone responsibly and think of your family and the other families loved ones you may affect just by 10 second text. Stop texting while driving and show all your friends!

Cell phones, should people be allowed to use them while operating a motor vehicle in New Brunswick or should they be banned? Lots of mixed feelings on this issue for sure. Think of it, how many of you drive and talk on the cell phone everyday? Text on the phone while driving or even check your Facebook? We all do it! Cell phones and technology are a part of everyday life for us but the question is should cell phones be banned while driving in New Brunswick?

Well Nova Scotia already has that law enforced and cell phone use banned and I feel that this will cause a chain reaction among our other provinces in Canada. The question is, do you think cell phones have increased the amount of car accidents and deaths as a result of cell phone use? Yes it probably has. We all live a stressful life, working, picking up kids, multi-tasking and we have so much on our mind that you do lose your focus of what your doing, which is driving. I know I do. Imagine driving, trying to focus on the road, kids fighting in background, your trying to take care of business on the cell phone, where is your focus. It’s all split up.

I know when I drive and I’m by myself I talk on the cell phone no problem. Add more distractions in the car and its tough. The reason I am writing this post is to get your views on the matter. I know today there was an incident that happened in our city where a school bus was pulled over and lights flashing, stop sign pulled out and on oncoming car drove right past not even noticing what he did while talking on his cell phone. He only was aware when he was already passed the bus partially and the bus driver layed onto the horn. The child was safe but as you all know when the school bus stops, kids tend to walk right across the road as they believe all is okay. Not many kids walk out, look both ways and then cross, most just begin walking across the road relying on the bus driver. All parents should talk about this with their kids to always look no matter if the lights are flashing and the stop arm is out. This is a perfect explanation as to why.

Now back to cell phones I personally would not like to see a ban on cell phone use while driving. Some people should be banned but its either all or nothing. I believe the problem lies more with the texting issue. If they did ban cell phone use think of how many times we would have to pull over as calls come in. On top of that pulling over on the side of the road depending on where we are can be hazardous as well. Should cell phones really be banned? Talks are going on but what do you think? Think of how hard it would be to run your delivery business? What about taxis, should their CB radios be banned too, they are driving all day, they have short conversations but hey, it’s still a communication device. What about truckers, the list goes on.

I do think however that talking on the cell phone while driving is acceptable depending on your distractions around you. Too much going on, let your voice mail pick it up. I do think that people should not text while driving as that’s just bad news. For all of those who do, I have no idea how you do it. Some people even search the Internet? Something people could do is get those hands free headsets so you have both hands on the wheel. If you think of it like this, is it really different talking to a voice in the car coming from a headset or talking to the person sitting right next to you. Regardless a person can get so caught up in a conversation on the phone as they can while chatting to someone in the car. It can be distracting either way. If our kids are screaming in the back of the car, should we ban our kids from the car too? I’m sure you all will have some points to this question for sure.

Do I think cell phones have caused more accidents and deaths because of them? I do. You must ask yourself though why? I believe car accidents are more caused by searching on the Internet or texting people while driving and this is something I think people shouldn’t do. Talking on the phone however, I think people should be able to talk on cell phones while driving. One thing I suggest to people is have your cell phone next to you, out of your pocket, out of your purse and within reach. Accidents are most likely caused by women searching for their cell phone, reaching down into their purse and for men getting it out of their pocket. Somethings can be done to make it safer and texting people while driving is the biggest one people shouldn’t do.

Cell phones are a major part of our everyday life. Do you think cell phones should be banned while driving in New Brunswick? and what can people do to be safer cell phone users? People will be for and people will be against this controversial topic but share your thoughts and stories. Also do you think just because Nova Scotia has a ban on cell phone use while driving will the rest of the provinces follow suit. There’s no doubt that cell phones saves lifes and improves our everyday way of life but like anything there are always pros and cons. What do you think?

Recently we’ve had a problem with our 2001 Oldsmobile Alero that won’t start for us. This is an on going issue with these cars seen by many Alero owners. What happens is your Oldsmobile Alero goes into security mode believing that the car is being stolen. The security feature on your car locks it down preventing car theft. My personal opinion is that if someone is going to steal your car they will most likely have knowledge on how to bypass systems to get what they want. Some will know and some won’t. This issue seen on the Oldsmobile Alero’s are a pain to say the least. I am going to show you how you can fix your ” 2001 Oldsmobile Alero won’t start ” issue that may just solve your problem and show you how to get security light off your Alero.

1. Put your key in your ignition and set it to ACC and leave it in that position for 10-15 minutes. After that remove key for 10 seconds or so and try and start your car. This should rest the security allowing your Oldsmobile Alero to start.

2. Locate your fuse panel and there should be a red reset button. Press and hold it for 15 seconds. This may remove the security light that is on your dash.

3. Make sure that your battery is not dead or low. It takes at least 10 volts in order to start your car. Charge your battery of get a boost and see if this will work.

4. You can also try starting it in neutral and try moving your vehicle ahead or back a ways as sometimes this may help. My mechanic mentioned that it may be a fuel pump issue and moving it may help start it.

The best thing one can for your 2001 Alero won’t start car problem is do cross examination to determine what may be wrong. If your Oldsmobile Alero won’t start just putting your ignition to ACC may help solve your problem. It worked for me and I hope it does for you as well.

I know today my Oldsmobile Alero wouldn’t start after some rainy weather and what I did was simply put the ignition to ACC, didn’t work then I reset the fuse panel, nothing. I then pushed the car up the driveway, nothing and then put it back to ACC and then my Alero started right up. Try all the above methods if your 2001 Oldsmobile Alero won’t start and hopefully it will get you off the side of the road or stranded in some mall parking lot. We’ve all had car troubles before but when your car won’t start, it isn’t any fun. Hope these car tips helps gets your Alero up and running on the road soon without breaking the bank.

Where should I start with the 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, oh yes my car won’t start! Today yet again our 2001 Alero won’t start again….. We just had this same car issue 2 weeks ago. The car engine turns over really good but the Alero just won’t start! I tried everything that I already knew and learned from on how to fix 2001 Oldsmobile Alero when it won’t start. Despite all my efforts we had to have it towed which cost us $115 to get it to the garage. You wouldn’t guess what happened next! The mechanic turned the key when it got there and my Alero started right up. How reliable is this car, it seems to have a mind of its own on whether it wants to start or not.

After reading several articles online, it seems I am not alone on this issue. It seems like many people have the same car complaints about this vehicle. In my opinion shouldn’t GM have noticed this problem and addressed the issue and sent out a recall for all faulty parts? You would think so but after calling GM about this there are no recalls on this at all. If everyone has the same problem time after time wouldn’t you think there would be something wrong if people are having the same problem!!! You would think but at the end we get stuck with a Oldsmobile Alero that won’t start costing us money in the long run.

So do I think Oldsmobile Alero’s are a great car to buy, not at all in my opinion. So if you would like to get a reliable car, stay clear away from Alero’s. One day your car will start and then the next day it won’t. If you do a Google search on ” 2001 Oldsmobile Alero Won’t Start “, you will know exactly what I am talking about. You know what’s funny is the people are having the same exact car problem. You wonder why GM is going through tough times as I am sure they knew all about these complaints but yet do nothing about it. They should have recalled the faulty parts and taken care of their customers. It would have been the right choice to do!

Having problems with your Oldsmobile Alero? Won’t start for you either? Lets here your story and outcome, maybe we’ll be heard.
