The Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver started in tragedy as a luge accident happened during training just hours before the opening ceremonies. It’s sad to hear that 21 year old Nodar Kumaritashvili, a Georgian luge slider died during a training run. The luge accident left many people in shock and deeply emotional after the incident. It’s sad to see that this young man’s passion and quest to be in the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver ultimately has taken his life. The tragic luge accident left many to wonder on the safety of the luge track. It has been mentioned that the luge event will go on and that it has been deemed safe and this was just a tragic accident. Nodar Kumaritashvili will be on everyone’s mind during the whole Winter Olympics in Vancouver and thoughts and prayers goes out to his family after this fatal luge accident.

Canada has waited a long time to see the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and sad to see this terrible luge accident take place.
