The “Photo of the Year” voting on 1111 Faces by Nick Gaines on Facebook is now going on. There have been 10 winners of each group of 111 photos and now it’s up to you to decide which is deserving of the title “Photo of the Year”.
Nick Gaines has also thrown in 2 wildcards as well. One wilcard winner was Sarah Tally and the wildcard #2 spot goes to Nicole Doiron. The photo of Nicole Doiron truly belonged in the voting as the photo is amazing. Congratulations to the wildcard winners.

This is a great opportunity that Nick Gaines is receiving all of this positive publicity, but as far as I am concerned this is a rigged event.
Nick wants one of his personal friends to win this competition, and in turn for all of his, “I want the voting to be fair,” he himself is swaying the votes, deleting votes (I know this for a FACT as people have personally contacted me saying my vote is gone) and not allowing any of the public to vote, unless they add him as a friend to facebook. ALOT of people do not feel comfortable adding Nick Gaines as a friend, because it is an invasion of privacy to have a stranger in their personal facebook business. It has been said that his pictures are not working on the group, well IF this is so then the voting should cease until this facebook issue is resolved. Instead he is taking the opportunity to continue the voting with his friends and personal aquaintances in his profile.
Well, Nick, you got what you wanted, one of your friends are going to win this UNFAIR competition, because you have taken the votes away from the public. And watch everyone, all of a sudden the pictures are going to be randomly put back on the group, well, a little too late, because your friends have a run for the money!!! But hey, who cares, this was rigged in the first place!! You should have just picked the winner, instead of messing around with people’s heads. And giving people the false perception that this was a fair event and that they have a chance.
I do not stand behind this discrimination. Nick Gaines you should be ashamed!!
This is crazy, cause I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to write on the groups wall, but I was nervous that I was going to be attacked. I too voted on a picture, Jared Hartley’s actually. He is a fellow firefighter and I am so proud, that with our tough job of saving people’s lives and their belonging, etc. that Jared represented me and alot of others out there. So as a FACE on FACES he was my face. He is the FACE of a hero. I don’t even know the guy, but I was proud! The girl with the leaves, yeah it’s a nice picture but not my style.
My vote was deleted and now I can’t even get back on the pictures to re-vote. Knowing now from the comment above, that you have to add Nick as a friend, it’s true that the photo contest should stop until that Facebook Group is repaired. You shouldn’t have to add a stranger in order to vote for a fellow FACE! And I hope that if you are deleting votes Nick, it’s worth it, because remember mine was deleted. So Jared, you got my vote buddy. It might not count, but you represent my face. And I am proud of that.
In my opinion Nick, deleting votes ain’t cool. You’ve pretty much wasted a whole year taking photos of faces only to ruin it at the end.
That’s not good. If Nick Gaines is sabatoging this whole contest so that he can have a piece of the pie with his friends then I think the sponsors should be contacted.
Urges EVERYBODY, to wait and vote when the Facebook group 1111 FACEs by Nick Gaines is working. Nick is not adding everyone to his friends list because he wants his friends to win. NOT A FAIR COMPETITION!!!

I am so dissapointed if these are true facts. I hope that you all have evidence to back yourselves up though.
Nick took pictures of my son and I would hope to believe that it was equal oppurtunity for everyone. And if this has been a rigged photo contest, then I hope that Nick will have enough respect for his art and all of the participates that took a role of making 1111 FACEs what it is today, an apology. Because without the people this would not have been possible.
So I too would have to renege my vote until the photo’s are back up on the group, because everyone deserves equal recognition.
Hey, I love this project Nick has started and his work is amazing. One of my friends is Nicole and she is in the top 11 picks for nicest picture.
I also have been following the votes closely and voted for 3 pictures including Jared the fireman. As of Friday I counted 38 votes Jared had and on Sunday when I went to check the counts he was down to 31 votes. My vote is gone and when I go to re-vote it won’t let me. Not sure what is going on but if the comments are true from previous statements above then yes something is fishy, and something should be done until the site is up and running good again. Just hope this all works out far and not in a cheating matter.
Everything is up and running. I deleted the pics off my personal page so that none of the “Best Photos” were anywhere on FB. 20 mins ago I re-added the pics in a new album as well as added the the photos to the FACEs group 1 by 1. All votes started back at zero.
When I couldn’t add the photos back I gave a second option to vote until I fixed the problem. I am sorry for any misguided thoughts u had. As far as votes bouncing back and forth that was not my issue, FB was acting up … at one moment u would see someone with 28 votes, 5 mins later they were 19, and next time u go in they were back up to 28. I have no idea what was going on.
After seeing all your lovely comments I figured starting fresh would be best. Voila!
well… after reading all those comments, i realize how people would think nick was “rigging”, as someone put it, the contest in order for one of his friends to win…
if i can be of any reassurance to all of you, i’m not a personal friend of nick’s. i’m just one of his FACEs… i’ve met him once – to have my pic taken. AND my pic is getting lots of votes ‘cuz people actually like it… complete strangers – people i’ve never met. so my votes are ligit – not from personal friends or because nick wants me to win… he actually voted on a couple of pics at first, and mine wasn’t one of them.
so i believe nick when he says FACEBOOK was messed up (as it usually is) and votes were going haywire. i’ve a FB profile, and personnally i think FB sucks most of the time… maybe you guys haven’t had bad experiences with it yet, but you probably will. sooner or later…

Just wanted to through my 2 cents in, I have been talking back and forth with Nick about the fb thing and all the votes. I can rest assure that this is not a “RIGGED” project. Nick has worked hard and put alot of time and effort in this to be successful and I’m quite sure he wouldn’t ruin this by rigging the votes. I noticed the votes some days be missing and some days there. Not only with mine but with other pics also.
I think Nick deserves alot of credit for this and some respect for going and starting things over again.

What is the purpose of this upcoming vote? Just a status for the person that gains the most votes on the best picture? Is there a prize or anything?
Originally it was just for fun, but with some support from businesses and such I have some gifts that will be handed out at the Gala. I personally have something for Nicole & Jared though which as well will be given out at the Gala in January.
