Well H1N1 flu virus is here but where is the vaccines and when will it be available in Canada? I’ve heard different reports on the news stating we were suppose to get it by end of October but recent reports I’ve seen indicate that it may be December before vaccines are available. Why is it that Canada is always one step behind! In the United States they have been giving H1N1 flu vaccinations for over a month now. They went ahead and went with the nasal one, but what about Canada?

It seems like were always behind. Every province in Canada seems like their doing what they think is right. Some provinces still went ahead and went with regular flu shots until the H1N1 flu virus vaccine is available. Other provinces elected to wait until the vaccine is ready. I know we have the top people in the health department trying to work and do the right thing but it seems like we’re all chasing our own tail. Don’t know what’s going on? I know in Moncton after talking to Dr. Sylvie Leblanc at one of my daughter’s appointments, she stated that the regular flu shots would be available in October and H1N1 flu vaccine maybe late November.

We’ll have to wait and see when this H1N1 vaccine becomes available. Hopefully before this H1N1 flu virus arrives in full force. Even though it arrives what do Canadians think of this new vaccine to fight the H1N1 flu virus. Is it really safe for us to use with little to no testing? Do you feel comfortable using it?
